Donations are Eligible for a Rebate

Donations to Winnipeg City Councillor campaigns are not tax deductable but they are eligible for a rebate! Donation amounts of $25-$300 are paid back at a rate of 75%, while amounts from $301 to $750 (the maximum) are paid back at a rate of 50%. For example: if you donate $200, the City will pay you back $150.

Contribution Rules

1. I am a resident of Manitoba and this contribution is made by me, from my own funds.
2. I understand there is a legal maximum contribution per person to a Winnipeg City Councillor campaign, and my total contributions to this campaign will not exceed that maximum.
3. The name and residential address I provide are accurate and complete.
4. I will be required to sign an official contribution receipt; eligibility for any rebate is determined by the City of Winnipeg and requires the donor to submit the required documentation to the City Clerk’s Department.
5. Contributions that are prohibited, ineligible, or otherwise non-compliant will be directed to the City of Winnipeg’s general revenue as required by applicable law.
6. I consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of my personal information for campaign finance compliance, receipt issuance, audit, and reporting as required by law.
7. Contributions are not tax-deductible for income tax purposes.
